Tulipa 'Ballerina'
Pictured at Cambridge Central Mosque. In April, mass plantings of bold tulips add a burst of bright colour to the tranquil garden of Europe’s first eco-mosque. Originally cultivated in Turkey at the height of the Ottoman Empire, tulips are common in Islamic gardens. Here they bring rich colour to coincide with Ramadan in April and May. Organic Bulbs founders Lulu Urquhart & Adam Hunt collaborated with Islamic specialist garden designer, Emma Clarke on this scheme.

Necaroscordum siculum
BUY NOWHoney garlic bulbs or Allium Bulgaricum gives so much bang for their buck. They naturalise in sunny situations, growing tall with allium strength to around 3 foot vertically and look beautiful even before they bloom. The flower heads then open into multiple drooping bell flowers of verdigris green, maroon and cream. A pollinating favourite for bees and other insects. The flower heads dry and turn up, so the display ends with little mushroom like clusters on the stem. Elegant and striking in all its stages.

Fritillaria meleagris
BUY NOWThese are such a source of joy to behold. Enchanting and bashful in habit. One purple chequered hanging bell per stem, that offers protection for solitary bees, hungry from hibernation.
This species grows well in damp, rich soil which is free draining in light shade. Given these conditions, they can naturalise well in grasslands or meadow conditions, as well as lawns and orchards.
Grow in grass meadows, lawns and orchards. Thrives in moist sunny places.

Camassia leich 'Caerulea'
BUY NOWTruly a magnificent addition to borders and meadows, with long stems of lavender flowers.
Known as Wild Hyacinths, they are deer and rodent resistant with tall candle flowering stems that attract all pollinators in May & June. An invaluable gem in the designer's palette. Plant into moist sunny spots for happiest siting and naturalising conditions. A great solution to heavy, wet or clay soils.
The flowers last longer when planted in some shade, yet tolerate full sun and they love heavier soils that hold moisture in the spring.
Our bulbs are cultivated by a collective of 2nd or 3rd generation bulb growers in the north west of Holland, where climatic conditions provide the perfect atmosphere for ornamental bulbs to thrive.

Testimonials
Atoinette Gibson“I’ve been buying bulbs from Organic Bulbs for my small north facing courtyard garden over the last few years. I love the varieties of bulbs available and the quality of the bulbs is always excellent.
Each spring the garden is transformed with beautiful narcissi, erythronium and galanthus nivalis."
Huw Morgan, Dan Pearson Studio“.....the plants are strong and healthy, with vigorous, disease free foliage and large, lustrous flowers. Many of them have also produced smaller flowering offsets, producing diminutive versions of the mother plant, which I have not seen before.”
Joanna Busk"The bulbs are easy to grow, reliable and work well in containers. The bulb packaging is also gorgeous and they make perfect gifts!
Gardening in a way that works with rather than against the environment is very important to me which is why I will only buy bulbs which have been organically grown.”
