Honey garlic bulbs or Allium Bulgaricum gives so much bang for their buck. They naturalise in sunny situations, growing tall with allium strength to around 3 foot vertically and look beautiful even before they bloom. The flower heads then open into multiple drooping bell flowers of verdigris green, maroon and cream. A pollinating favourite for bees and other insects. The flower heads dry and turn up, so the display ends with little mushroom like clusters on the stem. Elegant and striking in all its stages.

These are such a source of joy to behold. Enchanting and bashful in habit. One purple chequered hanging bell per stem, that offers protection for solitary bees, hungry from hibernation.

This species grows well in damp, rich soil which is free draining in light shade. Given these conditions, they can naturalise well in grasslands or meadow conditions, as well as lawns and orchards.

Grow in grass meadows, lawns and orchards. Thrives in moist sunny places.
