Fritillaria uva-vulpis is a bulbous perennial with lance-shaped leaves 5-9cm long and sprays of up to seven hanging, bell-shaped flowers in dark purple-brown, internally and sometimes tipped with bright yellow.
Always handle Fritillaria bulbs with extreme care as they are delicate beings which bruise easily. This variety does well in very drained soil in full sun and must not to sit in wet soil when in dormancy.
Tip: Watch out for red beetle which seem partial to this variety .
Our Tip: For longer lasting blooms, feed with a tomato fertisiler when the first shoots appear.
